Implementing a 7x24 operation with added value
How to ensure 7x24h operation not just by avoiding a negative impact on people and costs, but also by creating additional value for the organization?
After an unplanned after-hour brainstorming session with my team, I started an initiative to establish a new off-shore location in British Columbia and to implement a two shift model with a rotating team between Switzerland & Canada. This bolt idea was accepted by the board of directors and went live operations in Summer 2024, with great results:
• Win for employees – they are covered 7x24h by the people they know
• Win for employes by creating the opportunity to work from abroad
• Win for the company: The costs of this model are at least 30% lower compared to any onshore model
